I have travelled from coast to coast in Canada and its beauty is diverse and breath taking. There is one location that has left a lasting impression, the Athabasca Glacier.
Located in the Jasper National Park, the Athabasca Glacier is one of 6 toes of the Columbia Icefield. It’s approximately 6 km long and varies in depth up to 300 m depth. The nice thing about this particular spot is that you can take a shuttle bus up to about the mid point of the glacier, get out and walk around.
